The Jewish Peoplehood Shabbaton
The Shabbat between Yom HaShoah and Yom HaAtzmaut in May 2008 has been designated as "Shabbat Am HaYehudi" – The Jewish Peoplehood Shabbaton, targeted at every Jew, in every setting.
In honor of this Shabbaton, the Jewish Zionist Education Department of the Jewish Agency for Israel is producing and distributing for Jewish communities and homes resources and activities designed to facilitate connection between communities around the world among themselves and with Israel, as well as addressing the condition and future of the Jewish People in Israel and the Diaspora.
We seek partners in Jewish communities at regional and national levels, and invite Jewish communities, youth movements, and synagogues of all denominations to participate with local Shabbatonim. The Hillel organization has already joined this initiative. Write in to join the Shabbaton, and stay tuned for further details and the comprehensive program.
