While not a war hero in the classic sense, Moe Berg, a major league catcher for several years had a degree from both Princeton and Columbia Law school. Prior to WWII he was asked by the U.S. government to take on a number of spy missions in Europe. He spoke 12 languages and served in the OSS the precursor to the CIA.
